What is MolSysViewer?#

MolSysViewer (Molecular Systems Viewer) is a scientific open-source Python library for interactive 3D molecular visualization in Jupyter.

MolSysViewer is built on top of the Mol* engine and exposed through a Python-first API. It is designed for scientific workflows in the MolSys ecosystem.

What you use it for (placeholder)#

  • Load structures and trajectories.

  • Control representations and visibility.

  • Add scientific overlays (shapes) and manage them by tags/layers.

  • Export reproducible interactive views (HTML lite).

Design goals (placeholder)#

  • Jupyter-native workflow.

  • Stable Python API.

  • Fast rendering through Mol*.

  • Reproducible exports for documentation.

MolSysViewer is an open-source project shared under the MIT license. This means that you have the right to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies without any limitations.
