First steps

This page is a gentle bridge between the very first contact with MolSysMT and the more detailed conceptual material in the Introduction.

If you have just installed MolSysMT, we recommend:

1. Running the Quickstart guide
   Visit the Quickstart tutorial in the Showcase section:

   • Quickstart guide

   This notebook walks you through loading a system, inspecting basic information, and performing a few simple operations. It is the fastest way to get a feeling for the library.

2. Exploring a couple of showcase examples
   After the Quickstart, you can browse other Showcase notebooks to see what MolSysMT can do in realistic scenarios (system preparation, trajectory analysis, working with OpenMM or NGLView, etc.).

3. Looking at Cookbook recipes
   The Cookbook collects user-oriented recipes that combine several tools to solve specific tasks. Once you are comfortable with the Quickstart, skimming one or two recipes can help you see how the pieces fit together in practice.

After you have completed at least the Quickstart and perhaps one additional example or recipe, you will have enough context to benefit much more from the rest of the Introduction pages (Molecular systems, Native forms, Selection language, and so on).*** End Patch ***!
